Prime Living is a new type of home improvements service offering a range of project advice, support and management services to home-owners, with a focus on the privately-owned retirement housing sector.

If you’re considering home improvements or moving into supported retirement housing, we can assist with project-managing everything for you. From being able to offer preferential rates from removals companies, through to achieving very competitive pricing on new kitchens and level-access bathrooms, decorating services, carpets/flooring and curtains, we work for you. We also work with tried & tested (and trusted) contractors, to manage all installation works, and survey and approve all works to ensure you are happy with everything.

We’re working with leading suppliers and brands to achieve competitive rates for you, for a wide range of services and products. We can also assist with saving you VAT costs where works are required because of disability, which can offer further substantial cost savings for you.

Our services are chargeable, with our fixed fee being a percentage of the overall works cost, and we will discuss this with you at our initial meeting. Our pricing is very transparent, there are no hidden extras or surprises.

Our experienced and qualified project managers and surveyors are fully insured and Police/DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) checked for your reassurance. If you engage us we work for you, and will ensure your best interests are served.

Who we are...

John Houlihan – Director

A carpenter & joiner by trade, with a diverse background which has given him a wealth of skills and experience in construction and construction management, including the project management of a wide range of residential and commercial refurbishment projects. John’s experience includes the management and development of local authority special needs housing services in West London, and development of home adaptations services for people with a disability. Experience over recent years includes senior management and commercial development roles, whilst also managing a number of residential property redevelopments. His own personal experience in recent years, and the experience of friends and family who have needed improvements and adaptations works to retirement housing, has led him to establish Prime Living as an ethically-led business committed to ensuring that older persons (and particularly those without easily accessible family support), can expect to receive the same fair deal and high standards that any of us would expect when undertaking home improvements. Grahame Middle – Director

Grahame’s background and training was initially in product design, and after an early and very successful career in print and art publishing, he caught the property bug and developed a very keen interest in restoring and renovating older properties. This interest led to him retraining as a building surveyor, following which he worked for a major housing association based across the south-east, working with a large number of different contractors on major renewals and repairs contracts. He then progressed through a number of roles in contracts management, to a senior role overseeing compliance contracts and fire safety for an estate of in excess of 50,000 properties. Grahame’s experience on the design side and attention to detail, enables a focused approach ensuring that whether the job is a full house renovation or a small kitchen renewal, everything is completed to suit the specific and individual needs of the client.
